Name: Roman
State: US
Story:
Like most of the other stories I've read on this website, mine is a case
where I knew, from the beginning, that I was "different" than others.
As I've grown older, some things have become easier for me and some are
harder. My ability to get along with the world in general has improved to
the point where, while I do tend to come off as being reserved, I also don't
shy away from social occasions (parties, company gatherings, ect). I've
found that being around people who are extroverted people & positive has
been very constructive for me since they tend to inspire that same kind of
behavior in me as well.
However, where I still struggle is feeling like those around me just like to
talk at me about themselves and aren't interested in me at all. I hate to
say it but this includes my wife too. To be fair, I don't really like to
talk about myself that much either so maybe this is them filling in the
void. All things considered, though, it leaves me feeling like these
relationship has little value to me and wondering what the point.
